The MS Chapter for the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) is hosting a 5K Run, 5K Walk, and 1/2 Mile Fun Run at 8 AM on March 31, 2012 in Brandon (Reservoir), MS.
Proceeds from the 2nd Annual Parkinson's 5K “Moving Toward a Cure” will help sustain local programs to inform, assist, and educate individuals and families coping with the challenges of Parkinson's Disease and will contribute toward national research funded by the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA). The longtime mission of APDA is "to ease the burden and find a cure." Keep on moving! The Mississippi Chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association is dedicated to serving and empowering Mississippians living with Parkinson's and their families, to live a well and fulfilled life with Parkinson's disease.
The MS Chapter is affiliated with the APDA and the world's "largest grassroots organization dedicated to fighting Parkinson's". The MS Chapter is one of over 65 Chapters of the APDA is a non-profit organization established to improve the quality of the life for Mississippians and their families living with Parkinson's disease. The MS Chapter's goals is to help fund special programs and raise funds research to find a cure for Parkinson's disease. Some of these programs include: the Annual Parkinson Disease Conference, Young Onset Parkinson Disease (YOPD) Retreat, and the Annual Walk-a-thon as well as other fundraising programs.
The American Parkinson Disease Association's was founded in 1961 to "Ease the Burden, To Find a Cure".
